Arshura 2017 Valter Mattoni
Valter Mattoni's Arshura is an intense ruby red colour in the glass and flows thickly. The nose reveals lots of ripe fruit, graphite, energetic thickness, carob, spices and vegetable notes. Attention! It must be well aerated to enjoy it fully. On the palate it is gutsy, uncompromisingly big and soft, playing on power, savoury, with dynamic tannins and a vibrant finish. It closes with balsamic returns. Tasty! Like a rock that never shifts, shapes itself over time and endures, Arshura fascinates with its veracity, it is never the same and is encountered with pleasure over time. A true masterpiece! To be enjoyed in company.

The Montepulciano vines are over 35/40 years old and grow at an altitude of 200/300 metres on a medium-textured clay soil. Neither synthetic products nor invasive interventions are used in the vineyard. The harvest is carried out manually. The grapes are crushed, destemmed and sent to fermentation for 10-15 days in steel vats without the addition of selected yeasts, using only indigenous yeasts. Refinement takes place in barriques for a period of about 15 months.
