Amarone della Valpolicella Monte Lodoletta Romano Dal Forno 2013
Romano Dal Forno's Amarone Monte Lodoletta is made from the grapes traditionally grown in this wonderful hilly area: Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara. The harvest is carried out with a selection in the vineyard of perfectly ripe and healthy bunches. The grapes are placed in the drying room to dry for about 4 months, so that they lose water and concentrate the aromas and sugars. The wine matures for at least 60 months in barriques before being bottled. It has a dark ruby red colour; on the nose it expresses elegance, with aromas of ripe red fruit, cherry, plum, liquorice root, soft spices, notes of bitter cocoa and chocolate. The sip is warm and enveloping, with dense, persistent aromas and smooth tannins. The finish is long and harmonious, a real fairytale!

Amarone della Valpolicella Monte Lodoletta is one of the flagship wines of Romano Dal Forno, who runs a 25-hectare estate in Val d'Illasi. The hilly area to the north-west of Verona has always been extremely suitable for the cultivation of red grapes. The calcareous soil and the mild climate, influenced by the breezes of the nearby Lake Garda, are the perfect terroir for the indigenous grape varieties Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara. The winery is the result of the experience of four generations of winegrowers and the decisive encounter with Giuseppe Quintarelli, another illustrious name from Valpolicella. From that moment on, Dal Forno's work has followed the path of the search for absolute quality, with an extraordinary commitment in the vineyard to try to obtain wines that are the perfect expression of the territory and its best customs.
