Barolo Pio Cesare Ornato 2016 Magnum with wooden case
Barolo Ornato Pio Cesare is the bottle in the company's range dedicated to enthusiasts who love the austere and profound character of the great Barolo wines of the Serralunga d'Alba area. It is a wine that can be drunk immediately, but improves if allowed to reach full expressive maturity after a few years of ageing in the cellar. It is ruby red in colour with garnet highlights. Elegant and complex, it expresses aromas of aromatic herbs, balsamic nuances, aromas of small red berries, underbrush, slightly spicy and mineral sensations. Structured and intense, it is characterised by a dense tannic texture and an austere and long sip, which stretches straight and severe towards a very persistent and fresh finish. A true champion of the denomination.

Barolo Ornato from the historic Piedmontese winery Pio Cesare is a top-of-the-range label, first made in 1985 to give voice to the extraordinary characteristics of the grapes of the Ornato cru. It is produced in small quantitat once, precisely to preserve the high quality that makes it one of the most sought-after bottles in the world. It is a Barolo that offers the classic profile of the Serralunga d'Alba terroir, famous for centuries for its complexity, power, structure and longevity. It is a precious bottle, to be enjoyed on a special evening with friends. Barolo Ornato wine was born in one of the most famous wineries of the Langhe. The Pio Cesare winery was founded at the end of the 19th century and still represents the traditional face of great Barolo. The estate covers about 70 hectares, with parcels cultivated in some of the most prized crus of the territory. The grapes used to make this prestigious label come exclusively from the Cascina Ornato vineyards, located in the Serralunga d'Alba area, in one of the most famous areas of the denomination for the extraordinary quality and longevity of its wines. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature, with a period of maceration on the skins lasting about a month, which may vary depending on the vintage. The wine is then elevated in Slavonian oak casks and a small part in barriques for 30 months, completing its refinement in the bottle.
