Fattoria dei Barbi's Brunello di Montalcino is a milestone in the history and quality of this world-famous red wine. It has traced its path in great furrows, leading it to peaks of excellence that are among the flag bearers of Italian viticulture and oenology in the world. This is the winery's most important label: a concentrate of elegance, nobility of drinkability and complexity, expressing a territory and a tradition. This tradition is at the heart of the daily activities of the Cinelli Colombini family, owners of Fattoria dei Barbi. They work in the constant direction of research and study aimed at new technologies, which are always put at the service of the centuries-old tradition of Brunello di Montalcino. Fattoria dei Barbi Brunello di Montalcino has been produced for more than a century. 100% Sangiovese grapes, harvested, on average, in the second half of September from vineyards located in the municipality of Montalcino. The grapes are crushed and destemmed and subjected to a sudden drop in temperature in order to optimise polyphenol extraction. It undergoes alcoholic and malolactic fermentation before being placed in wooden barrels of varying sizes for a period of no less than 2 years. This is followed by 4 months of bottle ageing before release.

Maturation: At least 2 years of maturation between barriques and barrels.

Tasting notes: Luminous garnet red colour. Refined olfactory scenario, modulated with aromas of potpourri, cinnamon, mugwort, plum, cinchona and an echo of carcadè to define the contours. The taste is fleshy and stimulating, with well-balanced tannins and overall elegant harmony, culminating in a lovely finish of rhubarb and citrus.
