Mormoreto Castello Di Nipozzano 1997

This is the great wine of the Castello, born from the Mormoreto vineyard planted in 1976. The wine was produced  with the 1983 vintage and since then it has been produced in the most favourable years; 1984, 1987, 1989, 1992, 1998 and 2002. The Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot vines, planted 150 years ago, have brilliantly merged with the land, enhancing its unique character. It is an opulent, deep wine of great finesse and longevity. The vintage '97 at Castello di Nipozzano was particularly positive for the quality of the grapes harvested. The year was marked by a spring frost which reduced the yields, raising the quality of wine to very high levels.

Hibiki Japanese Harmony, a truly apt name for this blended whisky that encompasses a fantastic and meticulous blend of the three Suntory distilleries: Hakushu the light and floral single malt, Yamazaki fruity and smooth and finally the Chita grain whisky.

The whiskies in Harmony are drawn from no less than five different casks, including American oak casks, European sherry casks and Mizunara oak casks.

Blended by the Suntory team led by Master Blender Shingo Torii, this blended whisky is elegant and incredibly balanced.

The Chita Single Grain whisky is produced by a historical name in the Japanese whisky scene. Suntory is a famous distillery near Kioto. Its location was chosen for similarity to the characteristics of the Scottish soil. The cool climate, the humidity and the presence of pure water springs constitute a unique value for a distillery. 

To these environmental characteristics, we must add the Japanese mastery in the art of distillation, which allows us to obtain Whiskies of particular finesse and expressive purity. The 33 Vendemmie of Castellare di Castellina is a blend of three great wines produced by Castellare composed by 35% I Sodi di San Niccolò, 33% Poggio ai Merli, and 32% Coniale. I Sodi di San Nicolò, Poggio ai Merli and Coniale: the best of the company's production unites in a blend, to give origin to a sip of great character, in which consistency and power harmonize with refinement and elegance.

What we find in the glass is a red of great level, which is aligned with the high standards of all other labels branded Castellare di Castellina. It rests for two long years in French oak barriques, and is completed with 18 months of bottle ageing.
