List of products by brand Le Potazzine
The term "Potazzine" in the Montalcino area is used to indicate the "cinciallegre", the lively and colourful little birds that inhabit the Tuscan countryside; by axiom this term is also the affectionate nickname used by parents and grandparents to call their little girls. In fact, the Potazzine are Viola and Sofia, the two daughters of Giuseppe and Gigliola Gorelli, who founded the winery of the same name in 1993. Giuseppe, an agricultural expert and oenologist, is the soul and the engine of the company and personally follows, with great passion and competence, all the phases of work both in the vineyard and in the winery, following very natural criteria, without compromise. The estate consists of 5 hectares of vineyards, 3 of which are in the locality of La Prata, near the Winery, and 2 more to the south in the locality of La Torre, all situated on land registered for the Brunello di Montalcino. Giuseppe, after many studies and experiments, has developed a procedure for the production of an exceptional Brunello, artfully combining the grapes of the two farms. The Cantina's recently built building is located underneath an old stone farmhouse: 400 square metres where all the stages of vinification and ageing take place, which is carried out in Slavonian oak barrels. The wines produced by Cantina Le Potazzine, Brunello di Montalcino and Rosso di Montalcino, stand out for their character and personality and have become a symbol of Tuscany and Italy in the world.
