Avignonesi's Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva Grandi Annate is made from Sangiovese grapes, and is the result of the spontaneous and separate vinification of 4 different vineyards, using indigenous yeasts and an 18-month period in French oak barrels, followed by a long period of refinement in the bottle, different for each vintage. It has a beautiful dark ruby colour, with dark reflections and a slightly orange hue. Very powerful nose, balsamic, truffle, undergrowth, wet earth, leather, dried flowers and cinchona. The taste is straight and powerful, fruity and spicy, with a long persistence. A truly mouth-watering bottle
Farm di Felsina's Fontalloro is a legendary wine. First produced in 1983, Fontalloro represents the highest expression of Castelnuovo Berardenga's Sangiovese.
Left to mature for almost two years in small oak barrels and at least another year in the bottle, Toscana Sangiovese IGT Fontalloro is a wine of rare elegance, long and relaxed, capable of a truly uncommon longevity but at the same time already capable of expressing itself with a unique balance.
Domaine de Montille's 1er Cru Beaune Les Sizies is named after the 18th century owner of the Maison, Renaud de Sessie, a great entrepreneur of the time. Like any other area of Burgundy, the soil plays a fundamental role in defining the wine and here in Beaune the clayey soil gives us a Premier Cru of great pleasantness and balance.
It can also be drunk young, but it has an immense capacity for ageing and can be drunk in 15 to 20 years.
The 2018 Nicolucci Predappio Vigna del Generale Riserva shows a transparent and brilliant ruby red colour. The nose plunges into a bed of voluptuous sensations that recall the undergrowth, through scents of raspberries, blueberries, wild cherries and sloes, among whiffs of ferns, sandalwood bark and cinchona. This is followed by dark tobacco, coffee and chocolate, a memory of black rye bread and hints of graphite and iron. Flexuosity is the key to understanding the taste, caressed by silky tannins and invigorating acidity. There is a long, pseudo-caloric sensation in the finish, reminiscent of red fruit chocolate. Matures 24 months in oak casks and 3 months in the bottle.
Avignonesi's Grifi combines the king of Tuscan grape varieties, Sangiovese, with the international Cabernet Sauvignon, to create an intriguing wine with a fine taste-olfactory balance.
Avignonesi branded and left to mature for 18 months in wood. Suitable for lengthy ageing but also ready to enjoy now, it is a wine to be chosen without hesitation for the best weekend dinners.
It dresses the glass in a beautiful ruby red. The nose revolves around a fine core of ripe red fruit, cherry, morello cherry and plum, then enhanced by hints of nutmeg, bitter cocoa, tobacco and eucalyptus. The complexity of the nose is echoed on the palate, where tannins, freshness, body and warmth come together in a fine balance. Good length.
