The Scorzagalline Taurasi Riserva originates from the Aglianico grapes grown by Fonzone in the highest section of the vineyard situated on the top of a hill in Contrada Scorzagalline in Paternopoli, the locality which gives its name to the label and is considered one of the cradles of Taurasi. The vines are grown using the espalier system at a height of about 430 metres above sea level, with a south-westerly exposure. The yield per hectare between the rows never exceeds 50 quintals. The must is macerated in stainless steel tanks for 15-20 days, followed by racking and the beginning of malolactic fermentation. The wine is then aged for 18 months in new barriques.
